Route

About the expedition

Organise and pack for your expedition

Day 1: Arrival in Longyearbyen

After arrival we make our final preparations for the expedition! We will test our stoves, tents, prepare food and go through our glacier equipment. In the evening we will have time for some shopping in Longyearbyen's many outdoor shops, or we can share a meal together.

Wildlife spotting from boat

Day 2: Departure to Tryghamna

After fetching our equipment we will head to the harbor where a private charter boat is waiting for us. The boat trip will take from 1-3 hours depending on the conditions. On the way we will hopefully spot some marine wildlife, and maybe even a whale.

Day 2-5: Ski

We will spend the next days navigating exciting glacier passes, hiking up mountains and enjoy views few people have ever seen. We will have long days, around 7 hours of skiing everyday. In evening we make camp and enjoy the simple life.

Day 5

After spending beautiful days on the glacier, we will travel down Nansenbreen and navigate through the moraine towards the beach. Before the boat picks us up again we will have time to for a bonfire and some reflection - during which we might spot some whales, seals or even a polar bear.
